Drug-free life is a bliss

Drug-addiction is known as a serious, complex brain disease with nuances and far-reaching consequences that affect many aspects of a person’s life. Many rehab centers help you become sober again and have a successful personal and professional life. The two main forms of assistance are inpatient and outpatient programs. Drug addiction affects each person differently, and many factors should be considered when considering a drug treatment program. There is not a single program that will work for everyone. It depends on the substance addicted to and the tenure of addiction.

The main differences between inpatient and outpatient and programs

The main differences between inpatient and outpatient drug treatment programs are the structure, commitment of time as well as accommodation.  Under an inpatient and residential treatment program, an individual will remain in a 24-hour specialist facility for a specific time. An inpatient program is fully structured, and the majority of the hours of the day are usually planned & supervised. This is used for the patients who have been severely addicted and there are chances of relapse at their home. They generally lack self-control and need professional supervision.

Inpatient treatment programs

Residential treatment programs are available in hospitals with specialized substance abuse treatment units. In centers focusing on mental health and behavioral health, there is a major role of a counselor and the calm environment created for them. On average, an intensive treatment program for addiction can last three to six weeks. While long-term residential treatment programs can take six months to a year.Inpatient holistic treatment includes methods like massage therapy, yoga, meditation, nutritional diet plan, counseling therapies, and fitness regimes. All these are scheduled to keep the patient busy.

Outpatient treatment programs

Outpatient services Chicago are different from in-patient treatment programs because the patient will go home every night and not spend the night in a treatment center. Such programs are available in a variety of settings, as well as different variants of outpatient treatment for drug abuse, including intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization programs (PHP) as well as traditional outpatient services.

Such programs provide services for several hours a day for many days a week. IOPs can be as comprehensive & effective as residential drug treatment programs. They can provide the same highly effective programming and services as hospitalization programs but without the need for overnight accommodation. The support of family and friends play a major role in outpatient treatment.

Traditional outpatient programs can be flexible and accommodating, the patient can schedule sessions and meetings at convenient times. Outpatient services can be used as part of a comprehensive addiction treatment program. After completion of a residential treatment program, outpatient services are usually used for ongoing support or recovery management. Recovery is a lifelong process. Regaining confidence and control over one’s life is a must. Many times, they have to be re-introduced into society. Friends and family must make such an environment that the patient feels welcome and motivated. They must not be neglected and left alone. Loneliness is a big reason behind all the drug abuse, so avoid it.
